Vision for Staten Island is an open and transparent citizen-driven process. There are significant opportunities to participate in shaping the vision. The process consists of several types of public meetings: Idea Gathering Sessions, Reality Check Workshops, Topical Work Groups, and the Staten Island Congress.

Vision for Staten Island wants to bring together anyone who lives, works, studies, shops, or plays in Staten Island. Everyone is invited to participate…the more diversity, the better the vision! Involvement of local elected officials will also be critical to the success of the vision. Initial informational meetings have already taken place with local and state representatives. Listed below are ways you can get involved.
 

We Asked; You Told Us!

Vision for Staten Island conducted forty-one Idea Gathering Sessions throughout the Borough from early December through February. All together, 875 participants contributed 2,881 ideas and answered the question: What do we need to do to make Staten Island the best that it can be in the coming years?

 
 Attend Meetings
Vision for Staten Island will host a series of Reality Check Workshops on April 29, 30 and May 6, 7. Workshops will be held from 7- 9 p.m. at P.S 58 located at 77 Marsh Avenue in the New Springville section of Staten Island. Reality Checks are workshops designed to integrate the intuitive input - the ideas - collected December through February received so far with more specific information brought to us by topical experts. The public is welcome to attend!


Volunteer

Vision for Staten Island will be recruiting volunteers to assist with it's Deliberative Meeting - "The Staten Island Congress." Please check back soon for details.

Friends of the Vision Effort
The Friends of the Vision Effort will consist of 100 – 200 civic, private, and public organizations that are willing to sign on as endorsers of Vision for Staten Island. A series of orientation meetings will be held throughout the Island in order to assist in these recruitment efforts. Ultimately these organizations give the leadership of the visioning effort “permission to proceed.” Additionally, the Friends of the Vision Effort can assist with outreach efforts, contribute volunteers to facilitate at public meetings, and host small meetings during the idea gathering phase of the process.
